New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu has finally eliminated the state’s concealed-carry gun licenses, allowing residents to carry a concealed firearm without a permit/license.

Gov. Sununu signed the Senate Bill 12 (SB 12) into law, saying it would allow the state’s law-abiding residents to carry a firearm in a manner that best suits their needs without requiring a license in most cases.

The Republican governor called SB 12 “common-sense legislation” about people’s safety. The National Rifle Association (NRA) and other supporters of the legislation praised the decision.

A bipartisan group of New Hampshire lawmakers are pushing for a proposed bill that aims to expand protections and prevent discrimination against transgender people in the state.

Three Republican senators have joined forces with eight Democratic senators and representatives for the measure that proposes to add “gender identity” to the Granite State’s statues of anti-discrimination.

The bill describes gender identity as an individual’s identity in appearance or conduct, even if it does not correspond with the person’s assigned sex at birth or physiology.

New Hampshire state police said in a statement that the report of the serious personal injury in a motor vehicle and snowmobile collision occurred on Route 115, near the Route 2, at 3:28 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Republican-led Executive Council voted 3-2 to confirm Gov. Chris Sununu’s pick for overseeing the Granite State’s public schools.

A bill designed to make it easier for New Hampshire residents to carry a concealed weapon easily passed a major legislative hurdle on Thursday on its path to become a state law.

Senate Bill 12-FN, which would repeal the strict license requirements to carry a concealed weapon, was approved by the N.H. House of Representatives yesterday morning on a roll call vote.

The representatives voted 200 to 97 in favor of the bill. A number representatives were absent because of a powerful snowstorm.

A two-year-old girl who was reported mission from her Manchester home Thursday night was found safe by police Friday morning, authorities confirmed.

According to a statement issued by the N.H. Police Department, Zoey Rose Guerrero Pena was last seen asleep in her crib in her grandmother's home on West Mitchell Street at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday. Her family called police at 3:30 a.m. Friday after searching home.

N.H. bill aims to decriminalize online poker

New Hampshire lawmakers are mulling a new measure, House Bill No. 562, which would allow online casino gambling, including poker, across the state.

The new bill is a short 3-page proposal, and in its current form it would simply decriminalize online gambling and poker for casinos that are within the borders of New Hampshire. However, it doesn’t suggest if the state would look at licensing and regulate online gaming providers.
