Electrical issue causes major BART delays

BART officials confirmed that service between the Pittsburg/Bay Point and North Concord stations was temporarily suspended Thursday morning.

They warned that BART service users could face significant delays; thus, they should take a bus bridge to get to the North Concord station to catch a BART train there. More demand for buses resulted in crowded buses in addition to more travel time.

The major system-wide BART delays, with the biggest impacts to the Pittsburg/Bay Point to SFO line, were caused by an electrical equipment issue.
